The Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Council is intended to increase ASCO’s regional engagement and provide members in the region with a new avenue to contribute to ASCO’s work. Council members will contribute to ASCO’s mission by helping ASCO understand the oncology needs in their region, by facilitating the engagement of ASCO in their region, and by networking and collaborating with one another to address unique challenges they face in their region.

Current Regional Council members:

In light of the significant diversity among Sub-Saharan African nations, representation on the Council is allocated to distinct regions of the continent. Council members are designated to represent Eastern, Southern, and Western Africa, further separated by Anglophone and Francophone countries to ensure that the Council is balanced in its representation.
