International Cancer Corps, Malaysia
Medical institutions in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) in Central and Eastern Europe are invited to apply to host the International Cancer Corps. The request for proposals (RFP) is now open, and all proposals are due July 22.
Through its International Cancer Corps (ICC) program, ASCO improves the quality of cancer care at participating hospitals in low-to-middle-income countries. The hospitals are selected by the ASCO Regional Councils through a Request for Proposal (RFP) issued to eligible hospitals in their respective region and a subsequent application review and selection process. Once selected, participating hospitals receive ASCO support through training and tools in the following areas:
- Palliative Care integration into cancer care: ASCO collaborates with the hospital leadership to provide training courses in palliative care, and supplements this formal training with ASCO volunteer visits to the hospital.
- Multidisciplinary Cancer Management: ASCO provides training courses in the multidisciplinary care of priority tumor types and supplements this training with ASCO volunteer visits and Project ECHO tele-education.
- Quality Improvement: ASCO provides training on and access to ASCO's Quality Oncology Practice Initiative quality measurement platform (subject to patient data privacy legal review) and quality improvement opportunities.
ASCO volunteers and staff also provide participating hospitals with additional ASCO resources and opportunities, including resource-stratified guidelines, professional development and mentoring opportunities, research grant opportunities, membership opportunities, and more.
